Empowering Shooting Excellence in Jharkhand Since 2008
The Jharkhand State Rifle Association (JSRA) was established on 1st July 2008 with the vision of promoting and popularizing shooting sports in Jharkhand. Affiliated with the National Rifle Association of India and the Jharkhand Olympic Association, JSRA is also registered under the Society Registration Act of 1860 and recognized by Niti Ayog, Government of Jharkhand.
Leadership and Legacy
Under the guidance of visionary leaders, starting with its founder president, Sri K.N. Chobey (former Director General of Police, Jharkhand), JSRA has grown into a strong institution. The association continues to thrive under the current leadership of President Sri Diwakar Singh and Secretary General Sri Uttam Chand, following the legacy of its initial mentors, including Late Sri Digvijay Singh (former Member of Parliament and ex-President of NRAI).

Our Network and Initiatives
JSRA has built a robust network of 15 affiliated district associations and units, conducting regular competitions at state, district, and club levels. These initiatives identify and nurture grassroots talent, providing young aspirants with a platform to excel in shooting as a professional sport.
Government Support and Opportunities
With the government’s relaxation of import policies, renowned shooters can now import arms and ammunition duty-free, while air weapons can be imported without licenses. These policies, coupled with simplified arm licensing processes, have made shooting sports more accessible and attractive to the youth.
